Hallo, hi there, hola, olá!

I’m Lianne Gorissen, the friendly face behind Easy Dutch Online. As a native Dutch speaker, I love helping people feel more confident using Dutch in their everyday lives. I’m also fluent in English and Spanish, and because I love learning languages myself, I’m currently diving into Portuguese too!

I know from a personal experience that learning a new language can be both exciting and challenging. While studying Spanish at Utrecht University, I experienced the ups and downs of learning to communicate in a language that wasn’t my own. Later, during my Master’s in Multilingualism and Language Acquisition, I discovered what I truly enjoy most: helping others learn a new language and understanding what makes the learning process effective.

That experience shapes the way I teach. In my online lessons, I combine different methods with my own courses and materials, always keeping the focus on what really matters: being able to use Dutch in real life.

Of course, grammar and vocabulary are important, but learning Dutch is much more than memorising rules and words. It’s about having a conversation with your neighbours, understanding your colleagues, ordering something at a café, or simply feeling more at home in the Netherlands.

My goal is to help you build the knowledge, skills, and perhaps most importantly, the confidence to speak Dutch without constantly worrying about making mistakes.

Because yes, learning Dutch can be challenging. But it can also be fun, rewarding, and something you can genuinely look forward to. 😊
